The chronosystem, on the other hand, is used to refer to the pattern of environmental events as well as the transitions over an individual’s life and the sociohistorical events (Shaffer, 2009). This theory is very important for the parents and the overall population. This is because the parents get an idea concerning how their children’s development is affected by the environment implying that they can choose the most appropriate environment for the children to grow up in for the best outcomes. In addition, the adults may understand the contexts that affect their own experiences, which could help in improving their livelihood.
Among the four most common parenting styles that include authoritative, authoritarian, neglectful, and permissive styles, the most effective method and the one that I believe is the most beneficial is the authoritative style. This is because this style ensures that the child is disciplined and encourages communication where the child can express their feelings on certain issues. This style is mostly characterized by communication where the authoritative parents listen to their children, allow them to express their opinions, and encourage them to discuss any options (Hughes, 2013). These parents also place limits and ensure that their children are aware of the consequences of doing certain things.
